RSA Fellows in San Diego will meet Thursday, Sept. 9, at the Salk Institute, famous for its scientific research and architecture. Dr. Tony Hunter, FRSA, will give a brief architectural tour of the institute, then talk about his work there. He is director of the Salk Institute Cancer Center and professor in the Molecular and Cell Biology Laboratory. Research in his laboratory has resulted in a new approach to cancer treatment. Dr. Hunter’s list of awards and honors is long; click here for more information about Dr. Hunter.
Fellows will have a chance to talk individually with him afterward, over a glass of wine, as well as admiring the view of the Pacific Ocean from the Salk terrace.

Paul Rich, Director of Policy Studies Organization, invites fellows to participate in the Middle East Dialogue 2011: a forum for policy makers, scholars, business leaders, to discuss major issues of the region. The Forum focuses on education initiatives, social, economic and political reforms, nuclear proliferation, interfaith dialogue, women’s gains and challenges, peace initiatives, and potential areas of conflict. We welcome different political and religious persuasions to discuss issues in a spirit of tolerance and free discourse. More information on the event is available here.

Carrie Fitzsimmons and Sir Ken Robinson, both Fellows, are among the presenters at the Creativity World Forum, November 15-17, in Oklahoma City. Also speaking is Daniel Pink, whose recent lecture at the RSA was transformed into RSA Animate – Drive: The surprising truth about what motivates us, which has now received well over 2 million hits on YouTube.
The Creativity World Forum is an annual conference on entrepreneurial creativity that brings together entrepreneurs, knowledge workers and policy makers from around the globe. The group will share best practices, learn about proven programs that successfully encourage, promote and enhance creativity in Commerce, Culture and Education. The 2010 Forum is aligned with Global Entrepreneurship Week and will be recognized as one of the Top Entrepreneurial Events in the World.

CCI’s 2011 conference will be held at Baruch College/CUNY, with its global focus on the theory, practice, roles, processes, and issues of concern to corporate communication scholars and practitioners.
The three-day international conference, serving as a bridge between practitioners and scholars, gathers speakers from industry and universities from across the globe in a collegial environment to exchange ideas and information on relevant issues facing the corporate communication profession.
The deadline for submission of proposals/abstracts to CCI is December 15, 2010. We encourage submissions from both those working in corporate communication careers and those studying in the field. Proposals for original research, case studies and other life lessons, panel discussions, workshops or demonstrations, or a complete session devoted to an issue are welcome.
