Katie has just moved to the US from the UK, where she was Behavior Change Program Coordinator at London Sustainability Exchange, running a groundbreaking health promotion program in 20 low-income areas in London. Prior to this, she was a Consultant with Rocket Science UK Ltd for three years, working with a range of government departments, multinational companies and non-profit organizations. She has also worked for Indian NGO Seva Mandir and international orphanage charity SOS Children’s Villages.
Katie is passionate about initiatives to increase social justice and she was invited to become a Fellow of the RSA in 2008 in recognition of notable work with disadvantaged individuals, groups and communities. When in London, she regularly attended RSA House lectures and meet-ups and enjoyed meeting many inspiring Fellows from all walks of life. Outside the RSA, she was on the Executive Board of the London Civic Forum and worked as a voluntary teacher of English and IT in her spare time.
Recently relocating with her partner to Palo Alto, CA, Katie is currently studying for a Masters in Social Research Methods and undertaking internships to learn more about the non-profit sector and public policy in the US. She is particularly interested to hear from Fellows working in these sectors or located in the Bay Area.
