The Magic Number: How many friends does one person need?
May 25, 2010 6pm to 8pm British Summer Time
Peter Churchill of the Northeast England Fellows’ group invites Fellows everywhere to join in a digital conversation.
The intention is to share with a group at the venue in Newcastle, and others remotely, a video that a few of us think might be of general interest, not least due to the growth of social media and other internet delights which we ignore at our peril, but which come at a price (time, privacy, etc). We will then have an opportunity to look at some other things (feel free to proposes something for the agenda) and chat over a drink (real or virtual).
In order to join in remotely you would need a computer, speakers, and microphone (preferably tested in advance for sound quality). A camera is an optional extra. We propose to use Webex which has a limit of 25 participants and 6 via video. We will be rehearsing (with fingers crossed it all works ok) over the next couple of weekends so it would really help if we knew whether there were a few that wanted to join in remotely in our experiment.
If you would like to join in please respond to the event notice on the VCH site (by clicking on the link above) and leave a comment if you would like to do so remotely.
Hope to see (or at least hear) some of you on the night.
Best regards,
Peter
