OPENING EVENTS Presentation and Reception
September 21, 5:30 - 7:30  pm

In early July, the Environmental Law & Policy Center opened its new green office that is designed for a LEED-Platinum rating in a historic building in downtown Chicago. It is an important and interesting demonstration of how cutting-edge green building principles can be applied in downtown commercial office building space by law firms, consulting firms and other businesses.

Their new address as of June 26th is 35 East Wacker Drive, Suite 1600 in Chicago, IL 60601.

The office is located on the corner of Wacker and Wabash. The closest parking is on South Water between Wabash and Michigan (under the Hotel Monaco).  The CTA has stops nearby – Red, purple, brown, orange and pink at State/Lake.  Many buses stop within blocks. People can use this link to plan their trip on public transit.

On September 21, Howard Learner, FRSA, invites Fellows to join ELPC for a reception and architect-led tour of the office. Howard will also talk about the significance of green building and energy efficiency in helping to solve global warming.

Please RSVP to Kay Tamillow at ktamillow@elpc.org or by calling 312-795-3709. More information on the office can be found here.

Feel free to leave any questions or comments for Howard or for other Chicago Fellows here.

I met a unique group of Fellows at a 2009 Chicago meeting at the John David Mooney foundation and have since followed the positive work of the RSA.

I plan to visit the ELPC’s LEED-Platinum office for this event, along with Jon Paul Diipla, a metropolitan planner from Rockford. He and I are looking forward to visiting the LEED-Platinum office and meeting more Chicago area Fellows!

I’m looking forward to visiting the LEED office and hopefully to meeting some of the RSA fellows in the area. I just became a fellow myself this summer.
