When: July 18, 2010
Where: Wherever you are!
The Big Lunch is a one-day get together with your neighbours on Sunday 18th July 2010. It can be anything from a simple lunch to a full-blown street party with DJs and a hog roast.
Albert Medalist, Tim Smit is the founder of the Eden Project. The Eden Project developed the idea of The Big Lunch as a way to encourage the world to get better by working together, with nature, optimism and common sense. Calling the project “a wild seed” they hope it will spread it’s way across the globe.
When was the last time you spontaneously met up with your neighbors? Did the winter snow storms have you out shoveling the walk together? Did a hurricane clean up bring you out after the storm? Is disaster the only way we connect anymore? Whether you want to grow your own lunch or close down the street and invite the neighbors to come outside you can learn more and show your participation at The Big Lunch.

I like the idea, but can’t it be a cocktail party?
It can be anything we like! Block parties don’t seem to be as popular as they used to be here in the US – what a great way to get to know our neighbors!
