NOT TO BE MISSED!!!!

We have been able to organize a professionally guided tour of one of the country’s, if not the world’s, most advanced “sustainable living” centers.

The Omega Center for Sustainable Living (OCSL) is located on 195 acres of lovely Hudson Valley countryside, some 15 minutes outside the Village of Rhinebeck, NY.

OCSL is a state of the art, self-sustaining building–years ahead of its time, heated and cooled by nature and supplying its own energy needs.  It combines fascinating architecture with the latest technologies to create inside space, a classroom, greenhouse, its own water filtration system and constructed wetlands. The facility has won numerous awards, including most recently, the 2010 American Institute of Architects Committee on the Environment (AIA/COTE) Top Ten Green Projects Award for 2010.

This promises to be a stimulating and enlightening visit you will not easily forget.

For those interested, there will be a luncheon at Gigi’s, one of the nicest little restaurants in fashionable Rhinebeck, at 12:00. The cost is $25.00 per person (beverages and taxes not included).  The address is 6422 Montgomery Street, Rhinebeck, NY, about 15 minutes from the Omega Center.  Telephone 845-876-1007.  From the restaurant, we will go to Omega to begin our 2:00 tour of the sustainable building and then guests are welcome to walk the grounds which are perfectly beautiful.

To register for the event and luncheon or event only, please contact Carole Franco, at cfr7217964@aol.com. For more info on the Omega Center visit Omega Center.

You are invited and encouraged to see sustainability in action.

This is for FRSAs and their friends.

Visit a beautiful location in the Hudson Valley in early Summer.
