Just to let you all know that several other Texas-based Fellows have responded via email and both Lucy and Kay will have a nice-sized group each in Dallas and Austin respectively.

Lynn thanks for that. The VCH Group idea is very simple and lightweight, just a quiet spot to exchange chat as and when - and can be more inclusive than e mail as new visitors can come along later and browse. There are of course many other options for doing this, such as Facebook.

Lynn and others:

I look forward to meeting at some convenient location in or near Austin
sometime soon and sharing coffee and conversation. Although I am retired
from UTAustin, I still have a schedule that is much too full. Thus, I usually find that making an appointment is more difficult than I thought before I retired. I look forward to our meeting.

Best regards.

Excellent advice Peter, many thanks! This site serves as a good virtual meeting point in the first instance, but I agree, if a local network reaches critical mass its members should consider alternatives such as the outstanding one you offer. Let's see where all this goes - from virtual coffee house to a real coffee house and then .....?

If Texas or anywhere else would like an online place to meet you would be most welcome to set up a more-or-less (your choice) private Texas Group at http://virtual-coffee-house.ning.com/groups (administered by RSA Fellows in north east England - for your protection new members are admitted on application). You can safely exchange details there if you like...

I will be writing to those of you who responded to Lynn. I hope we will be able to meet up soon. I beleive there are still serveral members in the Austin/Dripping Springs area who have not responded. It would be great to hear from you.
