Coinciding with COP 15 in Copenhagen, the most significant United Nations conference on Climate Change since Kyoto, this exhibition features new works commissioned by the Global Gender and Climate Alliance, and ARTPORT-making waves. Raising challenging questions on gender and climate change, the exhibition is on view at DGI-byen, the official events venue of the Danish Foreign Ministry.
Whitehead, Juras and Ferreira have created a new video work UNFORESEEN: which traces the contribution of early twentieth century plant geneticist, Lydia Rodina, as her work continues to have global impacts. Bringing women scientists, policy makers, and community organizers together, the digital video elucidates the interconnectivity of women climate activists worldwide, and the impacts of their work, now and into the future.
After COP15, the exhibition will travel internationally, beginning in Valencia, Spain.
