Most of the experiences I have are at higher education level, rather than primary/secondary school as I've always worked with post-18 year olds for our programmes. The website for the Centre for Conflict Mgt in Oslo seems to be down, so unfortunately that's at a deadend. I have memory of programs in the U.S., particularly Teachers College Columbia University from which the World Council for Curriculum and Instruction (WCCI) grew. There are models of elementary and secondary education programs being collected at Spelman College by the students of Karen McLean Dade (kdonaldson@spelman.edu) who was the editor of the WCCI Newsletter. The curriculum was based around the UN Declaration of Human Rights and Peace issues, so happy to help, pass on contacts etc. Also, there's a Peace school in Olso, Norway and their curriculum is around peace but also issues of intercultural understanding, communication skills etc. Rotary International also offer a Peace Studies program with several universities around the world deliver this. Bradford Uni, UK is one of these and they have a Peace studies dept, so I'm sure they'd be interested in helping. For us, our international education programs (ididbetter.com) have a number of objectives for participants, one of which is for them to learn intercultural communication skills, ultimately, it's felt these skills plus the experience of living abroad can lead to greater levels of understanding, self-awareness and ultimately a more peaceful outlook. So I'm keen to know more about developments. Feel free to get in touch if you need any contacts.
