I know quite a numer of of Iranians who now live in England. One family felt better leaving when the Shah did due to their position in the business establishment. Another (younger) got into trouble more recently by dipping a toe into student politics. Others came here for education and opportunity. All of them would be happier back home if circumstances were right.
The west interfering in their fledgling democracy over oil sowed the seeds for future hostility http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Ajax.
there are so many angles to the story. One of which is Hooman Majd’s. We’ll be streaming the Iran Salon live on FORA.tv http://fora.tv/live/janera.
We hope you participate in the conversation!
Best,
Janera
