Welcome to the American Coffee House, a virtual meeting place for Fellows and their guests

As we end the first quarter of 2009, our physical and virtual halls and meeting places are buzzing with activity. Regional Fellowship meetings have brought together close to 150 Fellows and guests physically and many more are in touch virtually.

So what’s it all about? It’s about ideas and we’ve heard some good ones. You’ve heard of the technology gap between the developed and the developing world; but what about the inter-generational technology gap and associated tension between young techie natives and older techie immigrants? Ever considered the benefits of urban forests? Or perhaps you want to know more about global giving solutions or rural investment in China? Post your comment here and let the network work for you.

Lynn,

This is an interesting opportunity. I look forward to making contributions in the future. I currently sit as chair of an Education Task Force in Downtown San Diego and we are planning an Educational Summit this September. The 2006 Downtown San Diego Community Plan anticipates tripling the resident population and the Summit is intended to explore the planning of educational facilities and systems in a “smart growth” vertical community. I’ll keep you informed as the date and content is settled and perhaps we can post the Summit on the “Upcoming Events” calendar?

Kind Regards,

Dean Coker, FRSA

Thanks Dean – as with all Fellows’ events, we are happy to share the information with other Fellows here and on the events calendar. Please keep us posted and let us know how Fellows can help via the network.
